"The way you cook food is almost as important as the quality ingredients you choose. Preparation and combination is what makes a recipe great. There are better cooking techniques than others for enhancing the natural flavor healthy foods already have. Sprout Organic Baby Food is prepared using recipes I perfected cooking at home for my family, and I think your baby will really taste the difference.
As a father, I know how important healthy eating is, and also how much of a challenge it can be. I think the best thing I can provide for my children is a variety of foods prepared well, helping develop a preference for healthy eating early." |
Our techniques are unique and are developed based on chef Tyler's home cooking methods. We roast and bake a majority of our foods, so the flavor is cooked in and enhanced, with the ideal texture.
Cooking Method Used by Sprout
Roasting is a slower cooking method that uses dry heat, like from an oven. This method makes food tender and enhances the flavor.

OTHER COOKING METHODS
STEAMING
Steaming is another method we use. It is a water-based cooking method, where food is held over boiling water using a steamer basket, bamboo steamer or strainer. Steaming leaves food tender and moist while preserving vitamins.
BOILING
Boiling is a water-based cooking method, with food placed directly into boiling water.
The food absorbs a lot of water, and the natural liquids in the foods are diluted. The flavor and water-retained nutrients go down the drain with the cooking water.
